Lotus Electrical Manufacturers (Pvt) Ltd, a fully locally owned enterprise, has emerged as a cornerstone of the electrical manufacturing and distribution sector in Sri Lanka since its inception in 1999. Originally established as a distributor of electrical accessories and appliances, the company transitioned into manufacturing in 2003, commencing operations with a single plastic injection molding machine.
Over the years, Lotus Electrical Manufactures has achieved remarkable expansion, now operating across two factory locations spanning a combined area of over 50,000 square feet in the Handapangoda area of the Kalutara District. This growth has not only bolstered the company’s production capabilities but has also contributed significantly to the local economy, providing direct employment to more than 200 individuals and fostering livelihoods for over 50 outsourced facilities.
The company’s extensive product portfolio encompasses a wide array of electrical accessories, appliances, hardware items, and paint brush and painting accessories, all of which are distributed island-wide through a robust and efficient partner network.
Beyond its commercial success, Lotus Electrical Manufactures exemplifies a steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability, operating a dedicated plastic recycling facility that processes over three tons of plastic waste monthly. This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to reducing its environmental footprint by reintegrating recycled materials into its manufacturing processes, thereby aligning its business practices with global sustainability goals.
